I’ve been talking to a lot of people who say dining out doesn’t feel worth it these days. I stumble through my thoughts on why that is and make a case for having a third (or fourth or fifth) party taste your food if you’re selling it for money.
I talk about 3 pumpkin adjacent things I want to make this weekend…one of them being Daniel Boulud’s STUFFED CHEESE PUMPKIN. 🎃
I share an update about the art show being rescheduled!! PLUS, why I’m currently obsessed with Rancho Lewis, the Italian cookie I’m dunking into coffee this long weekend and moreeee…
I remind everyone to come try and dunk me in the dunk tank to raise money for W.R.E.N. (supporting reproductive freedom in SC) THIS MONDAY 8/22/22 at The Whale from 5-8pm and talk about my favorite new pillow. Plus, I make a peach crisp and run out of time.
On today’s show I sit down with Restaurant-Meme-Mogul, Eli Sussman. I think Eli is extremely funny and so does everyone on Instagram who’s ever worked in a restaurant. GO SEE THE MEMES HERE: https://www.instagram.com/thesussmans/?hl=en and listen in to find out more about how he became the king of the meme, where you can eat his food in NYC and what he would be doing if he wasn’t already VERY BUSY making us all laugh.

PLUS, I get deep in the weeds trying to dissect how I feel about FX’s ‘The Bear’ slinging restaurant culture to the forefront of the mainstream consciousness like never before.
Lindsay briefly addresses the overturning of Roe V. Wade and talks about a S’more + Peanut Butter Cup Hybrid that was inspired by her days at Cold Stone Creamery. PLUS. Which one of you consulted on that FX show The Bear? I wanna know. Show yourself.
Lindsay almost burns down her parents outdoor kitchen and tells you about a place in John’s Island that she is now a regular at. Plus, why the classic Chocolate Delight is the perfect early summer treat.
Mere Brugler is an amazing young chef (and loyal Effin b radio listener! 😘) who has worked at some of the coolest spots in the country like Chubby Fish, Le Farfalle, Leon’s, Found Oyster and more. But when she got COVID in 2020 she completely lost her ability to taste..which sort of makes cooking um….difficult. Her story is a tough one but I think it holds so much wisdom for anyone in the industry who is trying to figure out where they fit in post-pandemic.
